Credits and swaps

How do credits work?

Each listing gets a suggested credit band, usually between 1 and 5, based on the item details. The final listing amount is what you earn when someone swaps for one of your items and what you spend when requesting items from other members.

How are listing credits decided?

Worn Edit suggests a credit band from the listing details, including category, brand, item type, and condition. In some cases you can choose within the allowed range before publishing.

How do I get starter credits?

After you sign up, you unlock starter credits progressively: 1 credit at 1 published listing, 3 total credits at 3 listings, and 5 total credits at 5 listings.

Do I need to verify my email before swapping?

Yes. Verify your email before requesting swaps.

What happens to my credit when I request an item?

Your credit is reserved when you request a swap. It is not spent until pickup is completed and confirmed.

When are credits refunded?

Credits are refunded if the lister rejects your request, the request expires after 72 hours with no response, or the swap is canceled before pickup. If the lister no-shows, your credit is refunded.

When are credits transferred?

Credits transfer after both members confirm the pickup. The requester’s reserved credit amount is spent and the lister earns that same amount.

What happens if I no-show?

If a requester no-shows, the reserved credit is forfeited and a strike is issued. If a lister no-shows, the requester’s credit is refunded and the lister receives a strike.

Can I buy credits?

Credits cannot be purchased in the current release. The system is give-to-get only.

Do credits expire or transfer to other members?

Credits do not expire in the current release, and they cannot be transferred or sold.

Is there a maximum credit balance?

We apply a soft cap to prevent hoarding. The current maximum is 50 credits, adjustable by the admin team if needed.

Requests, pickups, and cancellations

How do I request a swap?

Open a listing, confirm the pickup window, add a short note, and submit your request. A credit will be reserved.

How many swap requests can I make at once?

Worn Edit limits active requests to keep swaps manageable. The app will tell you if you have reached the limit.

What if the lister doesn’t respond?

Requests expire after 72 hours if there’s no response. Your reserved credit is automatically refunded.

Can I cancel a swap?

Yes. Cancel as early as possible in the app so the other member can re-list. Cancellations before pickup refund the reserved credit.

How is pickup confirmed?

Both members confirm pickup in the app. Use the in-app chat to agree the handover and share the swap code in person. The exchange is only completed once pickup is confirmed with that code.

How should I handle pickup safely?

Keep planning inside Worn Edit chat, agree to meet in a public place, and confirm the item in person before finishing the exchange.

Can I have someone else pick up for me?

Yes, with the lister’s approval. The account holder remains responsible for the swap.

Can I coordinate swaps or payments off-platform?

No. Keep all coordination inside Worn Edit. Off-platform payments or swaps are not allowed.

Listings and availability

What can I list?

Clean, wearable clothing and accessories in good condition. Counterfeits, damaged items, and hygiene-sensitive items are not allowed.

How does listing work?

Create a listing with photos, size, brand, condition, and pickup availability. When someone requests the item, you can accept, decline, or propose another time.

Can I list items from friends or roommates?

You can list items you have permission to swap and can coordinate pickup for. You are responsible for the listing and the handoff.

Can I take my own listing photos?

Yes. Clear, well-lit photos that show the actual item help your listing swap faster.

How do I update my pickup availability?

Update each listing’s availability and your profile pickup hours. Changes take effect immediately.

Safety, trust, and disputes

How are members verified?

We verify email and basic profile information for every member. Additional verification may be required in some regions.

Am I in control of who I swap with?

Yes. You can accept or decline any request.

What happens if something is damaged or misrepresented?

Open a dispute within 48 hours of pickup. Our team will review the listing, chat history, and photos and may issue a credit refund or other resolution.

What should I do if something feels unsafe?

Leave the situation if needed, keep evidence in chat, and report any unsafe behaviour or incident to Worn Edit as soon as possible. We review reports because safety issues can affect the wider community.

How can I contact Worn Edit?

For any questions, email hello@wornedit.com.

What information about me is visible to other members?

Members can see your first name, profile photo, neighborhood, and listing details. Exact addresses are shared only after a swap is confirmed.

Access and business model

How does Worn Edit make money?

Worn Edit does not currently charge consumers to use the swapping platform. The core consumer experience is free.

Do members pay each other?

No. There are no cash payments between members. Swaps are credit-based only.

Prep and logistics

How should I prepare for a pickup?

Clean the item, confirm the condition matches the listing, and pack it neatly. Communicate promptly if anything changes.

Do you use cleaners or provide packaging?

No. Members are responsible for cleaning and packaging their own items.
